Job Title: Homelessness Advisor
Location: Derby
Hours Per Week: 37 Hours
Rate of Pay: £17-£18 P/H (Umbrella)
Derby Council are currently recruiting for a Homelessness Advisor to join their Housing team.
Main Duties: Provide face-to-face service to customers with housing needs, offering advice and support to prevent homelessness and assist with accommodation requirements. Complete assessments in line with legislative frameworks, developing personalised housing plans and providing written advice to customers facing homelessness or housing insecurity. Collaborate with external agencies and accommodation providers, negotiating positive outcomes and working in partnership with statutory and non-statutory bodies to ensure customer needs are met. Support service delivery and best practice, ensuring consistent approaches, adhering to policies, and providing updates to teams and managers, while considering financial and safeguarding implications. The Candidate Will Have: Proven experience in customer service and housing advice, including managing complex cases and developing tailored housing plans to meet individual needs. Strong communication and negotiation skills, demonstrated through working with providers, partners, and agencies to secure positive housing outcomes for residents. Experience in collaborating with multi-agency teams and adhering to policies related to safeguarding, health and safety, and equality to ensure high-quality service delivery.
