Highways Supervisor

We are working with a Highways Surfacing and Maintenance contractor, who are the primary point of contact for ongoing maintenance and new major construction works on the A13 and the surrounding road network.
They are looking for someone who has prior experience of supervising ongoing or new highways works on TMC or NEC contracts and is able to monitoring and liaising with sub contractors and the main client, acting as one of the main POCs carrying out the following responsibilities: Responsible for the safe running of (allocated) sites and monitor the implementation and control of safe working procedures.
Prepare and implement risk assessments and method statements.
Manage/liaise with Sub-Contractors as appropriate.
Monitor/liaise with freelance/temporary schemes staff.
Liaise with Client, at the depot or on site.
Conduct depot and site inductions.
Weekly Health & Safety & Environmental Inspections.
Issue works order and applicable permits.
Complete daily site diaries.
Organising and resourcing staff labour, plant and materials, so that the works progress effectively and economically.
Minimising cost of works through correct programming and utilisation of labour, plant, materials and Sub-Contractors.
You will need to possess some of the following qualifications (paramount qualifications highlighted: Construction Qualification – NVQ 3 or similar CSCS Qualification SMSTS / SSSTS / IOSH Works delivery within the London TMC highways sector.
