Job description: Highways Operative – CullomptonOur clients are looking for Highways Operatives to join their hardworking dedicated team in Cullompton.Key Responsibilities: Work as part of a team undertaking Highways repairs, ranging from Patching, Resurfacing, Potholes, Drainage, Footways and General Highway Maintenance.Use technology (tablets/apps) to input safety data and maintenance records.Drive/operate plant and equipment where trained, necessary for the for the day to day tasks set.Take responsibility for vehicles/plant/materials in your charge.Where appropriate provide direction/supervision of the work to less experienced operatives.
Essential Skills: Driving License ideally clean some points acceptedA commitment to Health and Safety.Good communication skills and basic literacy and numeracy.Ability to undertake a high level of manual work and work outdoors in all weathers.CSCS Card.
Desirable Skills: Highways experience.HGV licence.New Roads and Street Works (NRSWA) not essentialOperative Accreditation Lantra 12D not essential Rate of Pay: £ – £ per hour depending upon experience.Overtime at 150% after 40 hoursThese will be PAYE positions so you will benefit from.Accrued Holiday Pay from day one.Pension contributions (after a qualifying period).Weekly Pay.No Umbrella payments or fees.Only Tax and National Insurance deductions and this will be shown on your payslip.
