Job summary This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of the delivery of the specialist orthopaedic physiotherapy to patients, working within the acute adult and paediatric wards, as part of an inter-professional team.
Participate as a leader and member of the team, managing a clinical caseload within the clinical standards, guidelines, objectives and procedures of the role will require weekend and Bank Holiday working on a rota basis.
To lead service improvement and delivery within the trauma and orthopaedic physiotherapy service.Participate in health promotion and education of staff, patients and families.
The post holder will undertake regular Continual Professional Development (CPD) to support their lifelong learning and map their CPD Portfolio activities.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential oA BSc in Physiotherapy/post grad MSc Physiotherapy oHealth and Care Professions Council Registered oComprehensive record of CPD oEvidence of postgraduate development oMSc in relevant clinical area Desirable oLeadership qualification/ training Experience Essential o3 year minimum as a Band 6 Physiotherapist or above oExtensive experience within area of speciality oDeveloping and appraising staff oDelivering services along evidence based guidelines oLeading student placements, and scoring performance oLeading on audit/ service review linked with strategic objectives Desirable o3 years experience within area of speciality oExperience as a Band 7 oExperience of Service Development oExperience of working within an MDT within acute and community settings Skills Essential oExpert clinical skills within area of speciality oKnowledge of the national agenda for relevant clinical pathways oUnderstanding of the strategic direction of East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust oAble to operationally lead on the delivery of services within a high pressure service, and during times of variable demand, with support as required oCommitment to team working oGood interpersonal skills; written and oral oFlexibility in working on other sites and outside of key area of work as the service requires.
oExperience of reviewing and reporting on services/ activity Desirable oComprehensive understanding of the future direction of the NHS oUnderstanding of the unique demographic within East Sussex and the impact of service demand oExperience of inputting into business case development/ service plans oParticipation in local/ regional/ national clinical networks oDemonstrate innovation to improve patient care
