Job summary Are you an experienced dietitian looking to apply your skills in a new and interesting role?
We are looking for an experienced dietitian to come and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team at Salford Royal main role of the post is to work with adult patients with Inherited Metabolic Diseases (IMDs).
Many of these diseases are multi-system in nature are treated or managed by specialised diet and supplements.
As such all previous dietetic skills and experiences are relevant.
Full training in IMDs will be provided.
This post will involve close working with the rest of the MDT.
There are opportunities for further development and career advancement and to develop specialist areas of practice within IMD.
Main duties of the job We are looking for an innovative and self motivated dietitian interested in enhancing and developing their skills to provide dietetic advice and leadership within a nationally commissioned multidisciplinary metabolic team delivering high quality care to patients with Adult Inherited Metabolic Diseases (AIMDs).
This post provides excellent further development and career advancement duties include:Assessing patients with complex, multi-system conditions.
Interpreting diet and biochemical data, and providing food and supplement-based diet advice.
NB dietary treatment is the cornerstone of treatment for many of these patientsBuilding a positive long-term relationship with the AIMD patient cohort.Developing patient engagement with their dietetic management considering needs such as psychological, social, learning and physical disabilities, pregnancy, palliative care, and acute decompensation management.Contributing to the running and further development of the Adult Inherited Metabolic Service at Salford, supporting clinical research and working with national and international AIMD networks.
