We are lookingfor an experienced echocardiographer to join our expanding, friendly team.
The role will include performing and reportingadult TTEs in a mixture of in-patient and out-patient settings includingsupporting the complex echo service with the DSE and TOE lists dependant onexperience.
Duties will also include supporting head of department and serviceleads with developing services, supporting trainees, quality control andaudits.

Main duties of the job To perform and report adult Echocardiograms.
To work along side consultant Cardiologistsperforming TOE's, Stress echos and LVOs if suitably experienced although training can be given.
To support juniormembers of staff, in accordance with the British Society of Echocardiographystandards, guidelines and departmental protocols and policies.
Actingappropriately in the event of significant adverse findings, alerting physicianswhen immediate medical attention is required.Responsibility to perform cardiopulmonaryresuscitation and defibrillation on patients in an emergency situation.To perform a supervisory / lead role and providetechnical support in Technician Led Cardiac Exercise Tolerance tests (ETT).Without supervision, analyse and report the results of the procedure, inaccordance with National and Departmental protocols and procedures.To prepare, hook up to patients, remove, downloadand analyse the recordings, then report without supervision 24-hour ambulatoryECG recorders, Blood pressure recorders and Cardiac event recorders, accordingto the departmental procedure and protocol.Maybe required to work in the invasive CardiacCatheter Laboratory service, performing unsupervised monitoring of invasiveintra-cardiac pressures, ECG intracoronary imaging on clinically high-riskcardiac patients.
Alerting Physician immediately of any changes in parameters.

Job description Job responsibilities To work as an independentpractitioner of the Cardiology team.
To be BSE accredited to be able toperform and report own echocardiograms and to amend and validate juniorphysiologists echocardiogram reports.
To participate in the development ofthe complex echocardiography service (DSE and TOE)To be fully competent andresponsible for performing a wide range of complex and highly specialised non-invasiveinvestigations, including analysis, reporting and clinical interpretation ofresults for their own patient workload and that of junior members of staff includingverifications of written reports from junior members of staff.To provide high technical expertise,supervision, support and training to technical and medical staff.
To produce technically satisfactoryresults in accordance with national and departmental standards.To communicate complex instructionsand clinical information effectively to all categories of patients, ensuringco-operation and compliance to obtain accurate technical and clinical data.To analyses clinical information andclinical conditions during procedures, whereby judgement is required todetermine the appropriate course of actionTo visual and verbal risk-assessevery patient prior to carrying out any clinical investigations.To ensure patients are monitoredappropriately during investigations and ensuring swift and appropriate actionis taken to minimise life threatening or significant medical events.To initiate Basic Life Support andImmediate Life Support when required.To ensure safe use of specialist /expensive equipment used by self and others.

Person Specification Experience Essential Significant experience as a specialised Cardiac Physiologist and advanced knowledge of Echocardiography.
Desirable Supervision of staff Assist with the day to day running of the department.
Teaching and development of staff Qualifications Essential Degree in Clinical Physiology or equivalent.
British Society of Echocardiography accreditation (BSE) or equivalent.
ILS Desirable ALS.
A1 Assessors award.
Registration for RCCP.
ASCST (parts 1 & 2) or equivalent.
