About the Role In this dynamic role, you will work closely with teachers to deliver high-quality lessons and provide targeted support to students.
Your responsibilities will include: Leading and delivering lessons under the guidance of classroom teachers, ensuring student engagement and progress.
Providing support and guidance to other Teaching Assistants, sharing your expertise and best practices.
Assisting in planning and preparing lesson resources, tailoring materials to meet the needs of individual students.
Contributing to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Managing classroom behaviour to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Collaborating with teaching staff and other professionals to meet the diverse needs of our students.
Key Responsibilities Assessing Needs: Work with the class teacher and SENCo to assess the needs of pupils, utilising specialist skills to support children individually or in groups across the curriculum.
Building Relationships: Establish supportive, caring, and secure relationships with students, promoting respect, self-esteem, and a positive school ethos.
Teaching Cover: Provide class teaching cover (planned and unplanned) using lesson plans prepared by the class teacher.
Responding to Needs: Understand and respond to the specific academic, physical, and emotional/behavioural needs of students.
Planning and Development: Assist in the planning, development, and delivery of suitable programmes of work, including those for students with specific learning needs.
Resource Preparation: Select and prepare resources to support learning activities and assist students in using them effectively.
Motivation and Support: Help motivate children, encouraging independent learning and achieving learning targets.
Monitoring Progress: Monitor and record students' progress, mark work, provide feedback to teachers, and contribute to reports for parents.
Managing TAs: Manage other Teaching Assistants, including performance management, training, and deployment.
General Duties: Assist with general school duties, including setting up classrooms, preparing resources, and maintaining a tidy learning environment.

Position: Band 7 (29-34k based on 1 FTE) 30 hours per week.

Requirements Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational support role.
Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification is desirable but not essential.
Excellent knowledge of the national curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
Ability to lead and deliver engaging lessons under the guidance of a teacher.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
