Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Location: Bury Salary: £500 - £600 per week (PAYE weekly pay) Contract Type: Temp to perm Start Date: ASAP New Directions Education are seeking a proactive and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join one of our secondary schools in Bury.
The school are looking for someone who specialises in EAL (English as an Additional Language).
The role is start in January 2025 on a temp to perm basis.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting student learning and delivering targeted interventions for EAL students.
This is an ideal role for an individual with a passion for education, who enjoys working closely with students and making a meaningful impact on their development.
As a HLTA Key Responsibilities will include: Lesson Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging lessons and interventions in the absence of the teacher, following the school's curriculum guidelines.
Classroom Support: Assist teachers in preparing materials, supporting classroom management, and working with students individually or in small groups.
Student Development: Provide targeted support to students who may need extra help, adapting teaching techniques to suit their learning styles and abilities.
Assessment and Feedback: Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and keep detailed records to share with teaching staff.
Pastoral Support: Support the social, emotional, and behavioural development of students, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to plan, coordinate, and assess educational programs.
Resource Management: Assist with managing classroom resources and creating displays to enrich the learning environment.
Requirements HLTA Qualification or equivalent.
Experience: Previous experience in a teaching assistant role, with experience delivering lessons or leading small groups preferred.
Skills: Strong communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
Commitment: A genuine interest in supporting children's learning and development, with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
Safeguarding Awareness: Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
