Job Type: Full time Reporting to: Assistant Depot Manager We are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 HIAB driver for the Pickerings Swindon depot.
45 hours basic a week + Overtime paid at time and a half - Monday to Friday - £18.70 ph / £28.05 overtime.
Start times may vary but are generally between the hours of 05:30am and 07:30am Monday Friday.
Nights out and weekend work may also be offered but plenty of notice can be given.
The Role Adhering to safe working practices to ensure the safety of yourself and others at all times You will be responsible for the accurate delivery, off-loading and collection of a range of modular buildings, portable cabins and related products up to size of 32ft x 10ft (9m x 3m) with the use of a lorry mounted crane (Hiab) A flexible approach to working start times as dictated by the needs of the business Daily vehicle safety checks to be completed alongside pre-use crane checks and lifting equipment and any defects are reported Complying with all relevant legislation in line with Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive requirements Providing a professional service when making deliveries and collections on site Load Security, ensuring all equipment is transported safely and correctly, in line with safe working practices Attend CPC training as directed by Pickerings Hire Ltd Willingness to utilise drawbar trailers wherever possible (class 1) Undertake any additional tasks as may reasonably be required from time to time Up to date delivery fleet of which you will be allocated a Volvo truck complete with FASSI 660 lorry loader About you To Hold a Class 1 / C+E licence with Wagon and Drag experience being the preference (Class C Licence holders will be considered in some circumstances) Must hold a valid Digital Tachograph Card Must hold a valid Driver CPC ALLMI Lorry Loader accreditation D1+E Hook (or equivalent) advantageous Candidates must be professional and approachable at all times.
