Historic Environment Scotland (HES) is seeking candidates for a new role in their World Heritage and Heritage Policy Service.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a small team with a national remit that has influence of a wide range of Historic Environment Scotland's regulatory and advisory roles.
You will be part of an ongoing process to make our advice, guidance, and training more inclusive and accessible.
Your work will help us to ensure that our services, and the way we deliver them, reflect our national priorities, including responding to the climate and nature crises.
About the role In this role, you will: - Help to develop a high-quality national external training programme.
- Work with specialists to deliver engagement and training activities.
- Support other teams within in HES in their training activities.
- Support the delivery of strategic external engagement.
- Support consultation and engagement processes for guidance and policy.
- Work with the team to develop a strong baseline to understand the influence of HES's advice and guidance.
About you You should have knowledge of national policy and strategy for the historic environment and be aware of HES's roles in planning and other land management processes.
You will also have experience of: - Developing or delivering training programmes, or producing education materials and online content - Public engagement and consultation processes - Working with a range of audiences with varied needs You will be highly skilled in: - Verbal communication, both giving presentations and facilitating discussions - Presenting information in a clear way, making complex information accessible You should also be educated to SCQF level 9 in a subject related to heritage, education, planning or public policy, or equivalent relevant experience.
