We are looking for medical oncologists or hematologists with expertise in treating lymphoma and myeloma to work at BC Cancer Surrey or BC Cancer Abbotsford.
As a member of one of our teams, you will use your extensive experience and qualifications to provide hemato-oncology consultation, patient care, teaching, and research with a focus on myeloid malignancies.
BC Cancer – Surrey, located in Surrey, BC, offers a full range of services in Medical Oncology, Hematology, Radiation Oncology, Palliative care and support services such as Oral Oncology, Nutrition, Clinical Trials and Patient and Family Counseling. Surrey is located 30 kilometres from downtown Vancouver.
The 0.5 FTE BC-Cancer-Surrey Hematology position will be complemented by a separate 0.5 FTE position through Fraser Health. More details for the role at Fraser Health can be found here. There is an opportunity for either a shorter-term locum position or a permanent position, depending on the candidate's preferences.
BC Cancer – Abbotsford, located in Abbotsford, BC, also offers a full range of services in Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Palliative care and support services such as Nutrition, Clinical Trials and Patient and Family Counseling. Abbotsford is located 60 km from Vancouver and is one of BC's fastest growing cities.
The BC Cancer-Abbotsford position is a 1.0 FTE position.
For both positions, we are looking for medical oncologists or hematologists with expertise in treating lymphoma and myeloma. The successful candidates will be expected to be part of a collaborative care team committed to excellence, to participate in clinical, research, administrative and educational activities at the respective cancer centres. You have obtained or are working towards Fellowship standing in the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine, along with a certificate of Special Competence in hematology or completed residency in hematology. You must be eligible for licensing with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of British Columbia and meet the requirements of credentialing by the Professional Advisory Committee of BC Cancer. In addition, you should be eligible for a clinical appointment in the Division of Medical Oncology in the Department of Medicine at the University of British Columbia. You must be eligible for a valid license to practice medicine in Canada to apply.
