Job summary The Senior Health Care Assistant is a member of a multidisciplinary Ward/Departmental team who undertakes duties in relation to patient care and ward/department administration, to support the 5 principles of the Nursing and Midwifery Strategy which reflect the organisations commitment to quality and the expectations of high quality nursing care in the Acute Hospital setting.
Delegated work and duties will be assigned and carried out under the direct and indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse or Midwife as appropriate, in accordance with the Trust Clinical Competencies.

As part of the emergency care team you will be expected to undertake a number of competencies and extended skills.
Full support and training opportunities will be given.As a member of the team you will be expected to support the nursing staff whilst working independently using your own initiative.

Person Specification Education and Qualifications Essential Already holds NVQ/QCF Level 2 Diploma in Clinical Healthcare Support Desirable Math and English qualification IT skills Has undertaken some recent study including statutory and mandatory Occupational Experience Essential Demonstrate relevant experience in acute or community setting Desirable Training in phlebotomy (taking blood) Able to use patient administration IT systems
