If yes, then this may be an ideal opportunity for you to join our friendly and supportive Occupational Therapy team.An exciting Band 6 role has arisen within Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Occupational Therapist to join our expanding Stroke Service to work at Maidstone & Sevenoaks Hospital and in the community setting.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career and to gain specialist clinical skills, support and supervise others and participate in service development.
Main duties of the job You will need to be able to work in a fast paced and busy environment, have excellent communication skills and have experience of an acute hospital setting.
You will have the opportunity of working within the acute setting on the newly built HASU and ASU as well as the rehab patway in the community and at Sevenoaks.We strive to provide a friendly and supportive working environment and offer access to in-house training opportunities and external training.

Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria Diploma/Degree in Occupational therapyHCPC RegistrationEvidence of CPD Desirable criteria Member of Professional BodyMember of special interest groupPractice Educator Qualification.
Experience/Knowledge Essential criteria Post qualification experience with experience in an acute physical settingEvidence of personal and professional developmentExperience of working as part of an occupational therapy team and/or multi disciplinary teamExperience of working with support workersAn understanding of common neurological conditionsIn depth knowledge of stroke.Application of OT theory in the treatment of medical, orthopaedic and neurological conditions in an inpatient setting Desirable criteria Experience of acute in patient treatmentExperience within acute stroke.Supervision of junior staff and studentsKnowledge of SSNAP Skills Essential criteria Ability to manage own caseloadExperience and commitment to multi-disciplinary workingExcellent communication skills both written and verbalGood organisational and time management skills.Ability to prioritise workload.Ability to delegate to others appropriatelyComputer literate Desirable criteria Understanding of quality issuesInvolvement in the education of others
