Main duties of the job The department currently provides a range of services including Direct referral for hearing aid assessmentAdult aural rehabilitation (including domiciliary and outreach clinics)Support to ENTPediatric assessment and rehabilitation (supporting the Pediatric services Women's and Children's)Tinnitus assessment and therapy The role will involve assessment and rehabilitation of adults.

Job description Job responsibilities A practicing Healthcare Practitioner, who contributes towards provision of a comprehensive Audiology Service.Assists the Audiology Manager in the daily clinical work of the department and is responsible for managing their own workload without direct supervision.This involves basic rehabilitative care, diagnostic assessments of hearing, and care for adult hearing aid users, children over 5years of age, and their carers/relatives.Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills with other professionals and service users, including patients, carers and relatives.Takes part in contributing to service development and maintains professional standards.Maintains patient and departmental records both written and electronic using computer databases and word processing.Provides clinical assessments and hearing aid programming and provision using complex computer software and specific specialised hardware.Assists in one or more of the specialist areas of Audiology Service provision.
Person Specification Knowledge Essential BSc in Audiology or equivalent (Dip Audiology with relevant BSc or BAA parts 1 &2 with H'Tec/B'Tec MPPM) Professional knowledge acquired through 4 year BSc in Audiology or 2-year postgraduate Diploma in Audiology.
Skills Essential Ability to communicate effectively with all client groups.
Ability to perform a wide range of audiological tests.
Basic computer skills Ability to work off own initiative within the role.
Apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations requiring fine manual dexterity Values Essential A commitment to quality and safety.
