Job summary A position has arisen for an experienced Health Care assistant on JennyLind Ward per week.
Jenny Lind is an 8 bedded ward for older people diagnosed with afunctional mental illness that requireinpatient assessment and treatment.
We are looking to appoint amotivated and dynamic individual to join our Multi-disciplinary team.
Jenny Lind has a supportive and motivated team of staff that take pridein ensuring that the patients admitted to our service have a positiveexperience of treatment, support and enablement during their admission.
We havean experienced team of nurses, being part of that team would allow you theopportunity to develop a broad repertoire of skills to support people that areexperiencing acute mental illness but also managing often complex physicalhealth needs associated with age and or frailty.You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and will receiveto access comprehensive training and educational courses.
We will provide you with resources to develop a long term career, continualprofessional development as well as a wide range of personal wellbeing andsupport.
You would work 3 x hrs shifts everyweek..
Shifts commence at 07:30hrs till 20:00 hrs for a day shift and 19:30 hrstill 08:00hrs for a night shift.
Shift work will include you working days,nights, weekends and bank holidays.

Main duties of the job To complete wardCSSD Stores requests, ward documentation, Care Notes entries, and patientspecific documentation.Support the Nursein charge and completing delegated nursing duties.Maintainconfidentiality, dignity, privacy and respect for patients at all times.Complete enhancedobservations of patients.Supporting patientswith Personal Care.Good communicationand listening skills.Ability to workwell under pressure.To work within aMulti-disciplinary TeamManual handling ofpatients, using lifting aids.

Person Specification Experience Essential Manual handling of patients, using lifting aids Experience of working in a care environment Desirable Experience of Working with people with a mental Illness Skills & Abilities Essential Physical ability to complete Safety Intervention Training Good IT skills Desirable Physical Health skills, NEWS 2, Recognising the deteriorating patient Qualifications Essential Level 3 qualification ( A-level, NVQ3) in Care or Level 2 qualification ( GCSE, NVQ2) in care and will be expected to undertake the relevant level 3 qualification on appointment to post Will be expected to meet the Care Certificate standards within 12 weeks of commencing employment with the Trust Management of Actual and Potential Aggression (MAPA) training I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
