Healthcare Assistant/Nurse Associate

Job summary Newport Pagnell Medical Centre has a fantastic opportunity for a full-time healthcare assistant or nurse associate to join our practice.
Working under the direct supervision of the lead nurse, and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, you will assist the clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.If you are a qualified and experienced healthcare assistant looking for a fresh and exciting challenge, we would love to hear from you.
Main duties of the job venepuncture, phlebotomy checks new patient health checks; clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms; preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations; providing valuable health promotion and education for service users, their families and carers.
About us Newport Pagnell Medical Centre is a large training practice based in the town of Newport Pagnell, with two further sites in the area.
We have 30,000+ patients and own PCN, The Bridge.

Person Specification Experience Essential Experience of working within a GP practice; Strong clinical skills; Confidence and competence in all HCA duties required for the post; Excellent patient-facing communication and interpersonal skills; Consistently confidential manner, as well as a compassionate and respectful approach, placing a high value on the dignity of patients, relatives, carers and colleagues; Ability to work independently and determine own workload priorities, as well as working as part of a multi-disciplinary team; Strong organisational and time management skills.
Qualifications Essential Previous experience of working as a HCA.
Phlebotomy skills Able to carry out Health Checks for the practice HCA Diploma or Care Certificate is preferable, but not essential Desirable A qualification in phlebotomy/venepuncture.
