Health, Safety & Environmental Manager

Working for a leading upvc window and door manufacturer we are recruiting for a Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to be based in their head office in Carmarthenshire.
The main role is to ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations, fostering a robust and all-encompassing culture of safety within the organisation.
You will develop, enhance and implement policies and procedures, conduct risk assessments, and provide training to promote a safe working environment for all employees.
Other duties include: Support and drive the health and safety agenda to ensure that the safety and wellbeing of our employees is the number one priority for the business.
Promote a positive safety culture throughout the organisation by fostering open communication, encouraging employee participation in safety initiatives, and recognizing and rewarding safe behaviour.
To have a comprehensive knowledge of ISO and ISO standards systems and procedures and their implementation, manage compliance by all employees and contractors and ensure that the site along with the workforce and management team successfully reach accreditation.
Develop and maintain health, safety and environmental policies and procedures in compliance with UK legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act and relevant regulations.
Ensure adherence to all applicable health and safety laws, regulations, and standards, including those set forth by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and other regulatory bodies.
Conduct thorough risk assessments of workplace activities, processes, and equipment to identify hazards and implement controls to mitigate risks.
Develop and deliver comprehensive health and safety training programs for employees at all levels, including induction training for new hires and ongoing refresher courses.
Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Maintain accurate records of all incidents and their outcomes.
Management and administration of all accident claims and liaison with insurers and the Company's legal representatives Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures, including evacuation procedures, first aid protocols, and crisis management plans.
Conduct regular drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of these plans.
Conduct regular inspections and audits of the workplace to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
Develop and implement corrective action plans as needed.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of health and safety activities, including risk assessments, training records, inspection reports, and incident investigations.
Collaboration: Collaborate with management, department heads, and employee representatives to address health, safety and environmental concerns and implement solutions that effectively manage risks while supporting operational goals.
Be an active participant and team player in the positive development and growth of a continuous improvement culture.
Drive company growth by continuously improving systems, processes, and collaboration between teams.
The ideal candidates will have Proven experience in an environmental health and safety role, in a manufacturing organisation.
NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in occupational health and safety
