To establishing good joint working relationship with key agencies inorder to develop a co-ordinated approach to provision of effective access toeducation, early leaning, health and family support services Main duties of the job An outstanding opportunity has arisen to take up the post of Health Lead on a permanent contract at Claremont and Kingsweston Schools Federation, starting ASAP.This post is hours per week term time only, with days to be confirmed.

£21,024 Term time only.We are looking for a registered nurse or allied health professional who has experience working with children who have complex health needs and learning difficulties in a community setting.Now is a very exciting time to join our Federation.
We are 2 SEND schools, Federated in February 2023, and we have lots of development anticipated across both schools in the near future.
This role provides an opportunity to work with the Senior Leadership teams, to develop the role of Health Lead, and work with Governors in the Federation.The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development, relevant to their qualifications, and a willingness to tailor work patterns to service the needs of our students.

About us Claremont School is in North Bristol and caters for children and young people with physical disabilities and a range of additional and/or associated learning needs, sensory impairment, and health needs, and autism, aged 2 to 19 years.
The School is located across 2 sites Henleaze campus with Henleaze Infant and Junior Schools and Redland with Redland Green School.Kingsweston School is in North Bristol and caters for children and young people with autism and a range of additional and/or associated learning needs and sensory impairment, aged 4-19 years.

To provide leadership in health situations for students in the Federation.
To liaise with health agencies to ensure that Health Care plans, written by other agencies, are in place and up to date for students.
To support leadership by being part of the Designated Safeguarding team dealing with CPOMs referrals and day to day Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead duties.
First line management for Health Care Assistants working within Claremont School.
Support Health Care workers (working with students with tracheostomies) working with multi-agencies to ensure that their training, from external agencies, is up to date.
Demonstrate effective networks across the Multidisciplinary team, to ensure successful communication and working relationships, whilst maintaining confidentiality and GDPR compliance.
To support, coordinate and faciliate induction programmes for staff related to Health needs of students.
This may require involvement of Specialist Community Nursing Services and other Specialist Health Services to ensure the programmes are student specific.
To be familiar with current school policies and procedures and participate in the development of new policies and procedures and guidelines as required, and and national policies, guidelines and legislation (for example, medication administration/storage legislation and Supporting Children in school medical conditions.
To participate in the recruitment and selection process, related to Health related staff, as appropriate.
To coordinate in-service Health training, working with external agencies to ensure that staff are supported to meet the health needs of students.
To make referrals to services such as continence and dental.
To liaise with Assistant Head Teachers (with responsibility for attendance) and class teacher when there is a health issue which limits a students access to education, to ensure that an attendance agreement is in place and reviewed.
To coordinate the administration of medication in schools, working with support of the Health Care Assistant or other relevant staff, to ensure that process is followed and procedure is adhered to.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential Registered practitioner, with current in date enrolment with appropriate professional body (ie NMC, HCPC etc) Recognised relevant qualification (Community public health nursing) or experience in the area.
Experience of working with children and young people with complex needs.
Significant experience of working with children/young people in the community at Band 6 or above Significant practical knowledge, skills and experience and training in safeguarding procedures Experience/Understanding of the need to engage with parents, children and young people and encourage their participation in shaping service delivery Desirable Recognised Teaching and Assessing qualification.
Management training and/or experience.
Experienced at delivering Health Education/Promotions programme.
Mandatory training updated completed.
Experience of Risk Assessments.
Understanding of National and Local policy realign to children within the community setting including SEND Code of practice and agenda, Locality hub service development and multi-agency integrated working arrangement.
Qualified Mental Health First Aider or willing to undertake training.
Knowledge & Experience Essential Excellent Leadership, organisational and management skills.
Ability to priorities, time management to respond to staffing requirement and health needs of pupils to meet the unpredictable and conflicting needs of service.
Communicate and liaise effectively with members of the multi-disciplinary team, Claremont head teacher, school community team and external agencies to ensure coordination of provision.
Share sensitive and complex information appropriately, adhere to school policies, human rights legislation /child protect/ vulnerable adults policies.
Annual report re health needs to Governing body and Senior Leadership Teams Ability to maintain effective relationship with individual teams across agencies.
Ability to facilitate, coordinate and plan child assessments/care plans and support transition.
Management of resources and understanding of budgets including stock control and ordering.
Liaison and regular supervision with the named professionals for Child Protection to ensure needs of children with disability are appropriately met.
Liaise with the support where appropriate parents support networks and group relations to children with disabilities and develop parental support groups as appropriate: including bereavement, sibling support and dealing with challenging behaviours.
Desirable Ability to develop and review policies, protocols, to monitor and evaluate practice in line with Claremont school guidance and evidenced based practice.
