Job summary Discharge Lounge is looking for enthusiastic, compassionate, and hard-working individual that also believe in our Trust Values: Supportive, Respectful, Innovative & Collaborative to be a part of our team.
Previous experience is not essential, as we offer training, however health care experience is desirable.
This is an exciting opportunity to work across all in patient wards to assist and transfer medically fit patients that are being discharged to the discharge lounge.
This also supports service users and families whilst waiting for their discharge documents, medications and transport.
We are a friendly, passionate team who are dedicated and provide excellent patient care, delivering first class service and continually striving for service improvement.
A successful candidate will be working alongside the supervision of registered nurses and other allied support workers.
A full training package will be delivered with the opportunity to progress within the NHS.
Main duties of the job To assist ward staff in packing up and pre-paring their patients for transfer to the Discharge Lounge.
You must ensure that the patient has all of their personal belongings including any equipment plus their medications to take away (TTAs) and Discharge Summary if these are already available on the ward.
You will assist in patient care and other related duties under the supervision of a Registered nurse for those patients waiting in the Discharge Lounge.
To carry out routine duties, including activities in which the post holder has been assessed as competent by a Registered Nurse.
To contribute to a team approach to patient care in conjunction with nursing colleagues and all members of the multi-disciplinary team, and work in accordance with the Unit Philosophies and hospital policies at all times.
