We are seeking to recruit an experienced and highly motivated Health Care Assistant to work as part of our very experienced and supportive healthcare team.
Good communication skills and a flexible approach is vital.Working under the direct supervision of the Senior Practice Nurse and strictly in accordance with specific Practice guidelines and protocols, the Healthcare Assistant will assist the Practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.13,500 Patients Modern purpose built premises Easy access, the practice is situated just off junctions 28 and 27 on the M4 7 Partners, 4 Nurses (including Minor Illness and Nurse led Chronic Disease Clinics), 2 HCA and excellent Administration Team Training Practice - 2 GP Registrars Main duties of the job Main Duties of the Role: New patient health checks ECG recording Venepuncture Chaperoning duties Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms Preparing equipment before, during and minor operations and supporting Clinician Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being Urinalysis Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate Other tasks will include Maintaining and cleaning equipment used by the nurses and GPs Chaperoning and assisting patients who are being examined by another clinician.
Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms Ordering of Health Promotion Literature Participation in administrative systems in the Practice At all times there will be a need to maintain accurate records A duty to advise senior nurses of potential problems or errors within a range of assigned tasks Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required.
Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post About us We are a well-established, friendly, forward thinking practice, with 13,200 patients, in modern purpose built premises, with easy access, situated just off junctions 27 and 28 on the M4.
We are committed to high quality patient care within a supportive and friendly healthcare team who are passionate about the continued development of our practice workforce.Our Practice Clinical Team includes 7 GP Partners, 2 GP Registrars, 1 Pharmacist and 3 Practice Nurses.
Our supporting Clinical staff consist of 2 Health Care Assistants/Phlebotomists.
Our Practice also have a close working relationship with District Nurses, Health Visitors and Midwives.
A Psychological health and well-being Practitioner and a Diabetes Specialist Nurse also provide clinical sessions for our patients from our premises.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Qualified to NVQ/BTEC Level 2 in Health & Social Care Basic Nursing skills Desirable Qualified in Phlebotomy Qualified to NVQ Level 3 Experience Essential Experience of working within a nursing team Desirable Experience of working in primary care Ability to work in a changing environment Ability to work without direct supervision Ability to work as part of an integrated multi-skilled team.
Ability to use own judgement, resourcefulness and common sense.
Willingness and enthusiasm to develop skills
