Main duties of the job Duties andResponsibilitiesNewpatient health checksECGrecordingPhlebotomySpirometryWoundcare, ulcer care and DopplerInfluenza,Pneumonia and B12 injectionsEarsyringingHypertensionand CVD risk assessments, inc 24 hour BP monitoringChaperoningdutiesProcessingand management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/NursesMaintenanceof surgical equipmentVaccine/coldchain storage, monitoring and recordingSurgicalequipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotationClearingand re-stocking consulting roomsPreparingand maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patientcare interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minoroperationsAssistingin the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-beingUndertakingspecific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated andtaught specifically in relation to that individualHelpingto raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promotedAssistingwith the collection and collation of data on needs related to health andwell-being About us Health Care First Partnership(HCF) is a partnership formed by a group of high-quality practices: Dr Bance& Partners, Ferrybridge Medical Centre, Queen Street Surgery and FMC HealthSolutions Limited (t/a Park View Surgery).
We came together to deliver modernservices that are high quality and will meet the needs of our patients into thefuture.HCF is a General PracticePartnership open to all patients living within our practice boundary withinMethley, Castleford, Ferrybridge, Airedale, Normanton and surrounding villages.We work in partnership with our patients and our Patient Forum to providemedical care for our patients.We are a Personal MedicalServices (PMS) practice offering Primary Care Services for the diagnosis andprevention of disease.
We help patients to manage their health and preventillness.
Our GPs assess, diagnose, treat and manage illness.
They carry out screeningfor some diseases and promote general health and wellbeing.
Our GPs act as apatients advocate, supporting and representing a patients best interests toensure they receive the best and most appropriate health and/or social care.The Practice has a current listsize of 31,500 patients and we are part of the West Yorkshire Integrated CareBoard (formerly NHS Wakefield Clinical Commissioning Group).

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Preferably educated to NVQ level 3 GCSE, or equivalent, Grade C or above including Maths, English and a Science subject Phlebotomy Certificate The Care Certificate, or to complete within 6 months of joining Desirable Leg Ulcer Management Certificate Foundation Degree Spirometry Certificate ECG Performance Certificate Asthma and COPD HCA Certificate Influenza, Pneumonia and B12 Certificate Experience Essential Experience in a clinical environment Basic health care assessment experience, ie Blood tests, Blood Pressure and ECG Desirable Familiar with primary care setting Familiar with SystmOne Knowledge and Skills Essential Clinical performance certificates Communication skills, both written and verbal Negotiation and conflict management skills Resource management skills Work as part of team member and on own initiative Good time management and flexibility Intermediate clinical practice skills Co-management of patients with long term conditions Management of patients with complex needs Accountability for own role Local and national health policies and guidelines Information governance issues in primary care Patient specific direction and associated policies Self motivating and self confident, able to work with minimal direction Adaptable and innovative Enthusiasm, with energy and drive Trustworthy, honest, caring and sympathetic Strategic thinking with vision Hard working, reliable and resourceful Willing to work flexible hours as necessary Considered, steady approach Diplomacy Desirable Diversity and Equality issues Health and Social awareness issues Ability to travel
