Health And Safety Manager

A food manufacturing business based in Leeds are looking to hire a HSE Manager This role is key to ensuring safety compliance, mitigating risks, and aligning with our strategic business priorities.

Working closely with the Operations Director and senior leadership, the HSE Manager will drive health and safety initiatives across all our sites, ensuring continuous improvement, proactive safety management, and compliance with statutory regulations.

On offer: Salary is £45,000 (potentially slightly more DOE) £4,200 Car allowance 33 days annual leave Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the management team to implement and drive the Group's HSE agenda, ensuring alignment with business priorities and targets.
Actively engage in cross-departmental health and safety projects as directed by the Operations Director.
Provide expert advice and guidance on health, safety, environment, and risk management to all relevant stakeholders.
Regularly review, audit, and improve HSE policies and procedures to ensure they meet best practices and comply with evolving legislative requirements.
Develop strategies for managing health, safety, and risk, making recommendations for adjustments when necessary.
Oversee the management of the Group's risk register, complete risk assessments, and ensure compliance with Safe Systems of Work Lead accident investigations to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Conduct internal audits and site inspections to monitor and improve safety performance.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of HSE and risk data, including key performance indicators (KPIs).
Make process and procedural recommendations to promote continuous improvement and ensure adherence to best practices.
Essential Qualifications and Attributes In-depth understanding of UK and EU health, safety, and environmental legislation.
NEBOSH Diploma, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Health & Safety.
Advanced IT skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate at all levels.
A proactive, solution-focused individual who places HSE at the heart of everything we do.
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications and Attributes Experience in the Food Industry.
Graduate Member of IOSH (GradIOSH) or equivalent professional accreditation.
Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a similar HSE role.
