Awards.About the roleIt is exciting times here at Churchill Retirement Living PLC and we are currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Inspector to work primarily with Construction Operations.
You will be responsible for inspecting construction sites, plant yards and other areas supporting construction activities to ensure relevant health and safety regulation is complied with and health and safety best practice is adopted.
You will be the main point of contact for Construction Contracts Managers and Site Managers for the provision of expert advice, development of existing procedures and oversight of implementation.You will undertake monthly site inspections, producing reports and liaising with our Site Management teams.
A passion for best practice and continuous improvement will be essential as you create toolbox talks and bulletins.
You must have an enquiring mind, question what you see in front of you, providing feedback and suggesting improvements to the site management and department.
This role involves a significant amount of time spent travelling, attending our sites based across the UK.
Overnight accommodation and a company car scheme will be provided to support this.
In-between site visits you will have a base at either our Head Office in Ringwood, or one of our Regional offices, allowing you to spend time with our Design and Technical functions working as part of a cohesive wider team.
Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 9.00am to 5.30pm and Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm with frequent travel to other sites and regional offices.About youYou will have solid knowledge and understanding of the construction industry, a comprehensive understanding of current legislation and experience in construction, H & S or other role.
Successful applicants will be an experienced, NEBOSH qualified, H&S professional who is familiar with construction activities.
Applicants should hold a CSCS card, have a good level of IT proficiency and must hold a driving license.You will be self-motivated with the ability to influence and have experience of gaining improvements via a coaching approach as well as experience managing projects.
