Health and Safety Consultant Location: Chesterfield Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 Per annum D7 Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a leading Health and Safety Consultancy.
Our client works nationally across various sectors, and they are currently seeking a Health and Safety Advisor for a key consultancy project within the construction and solar industry .
This role is a fantastic opportunity with the potential for permanent employment after the initial 12-month contract.
Position Summary The successful candidate will primarily support on of the clients construction projects, taking on a key role in managing health and safety on site.
This is a hands-on, client-facing position where you will ensure compliance with safety standards, provide practical solutions to any issues that arise, and contribute to the project's success from start to finish.
You will be part of a dedicated consultancy team that is committed to delivering excellence in health and safety management.
Key Responsibilities Conduct client site visits and perform inspections/audits with detailed report completion.
Create and implement Toolbox Talks, and attend site meetings while holding H&S meetings with contractors.
Manage the vetting of all subcontractors and lead accident investigations.
Review contractors' Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
Oversee workplace transport management, including highway interfaces.
Provide on-site training to subcontractors and review incident/near-miss data.
Develop and deliver KPI dashboards, create plant/equipment site registers, and review/update key documentation.
Supervise high-risk activities on site, carry out emergency drills, and monitor permitting requirements.
Conduct fire risk assessments (if qualified and experienced) and other risk assessments as necessary.
Qualifications NEBOSH General Certificate (Essential) Minimum 3 years of experience in construction and civils Solar experience in desirable Requirements Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and delivering safety training.
Strong health and safety knowledge with a focus on inspections, report completion, and technical disciplines including fire safety.
Ability to foster a positive safety culture among clients and their employees.
