Band 6 post - potential as development role at Band 5 whilst in training.
The successful applicant will work within the Health and Safety Team and broader Risk Management Team to support managers at all levels and across all areas of the organisation in improving health and safety standards.
You require a flexible attitude to working and an organised, professional manner.
You need to be able to manage your own workload effectively, The role will be basedat Macclesfield District General Hospitaland you will be expected to travel to the Trust's community hospitals and peripheral sites.
The post includes conducting safety training, undertaking risk assessments, audits and inspections, and ensures health and safety compliance to maintain the safety of patients and staff.
Experience in IT systems is essential.
This post is hours a week.
Main duties of the job To act as the Trust's competent person and expert advisor to the executive and senior management team for health and safety and provide specialist advice, guidance and instruction regarding health and safety, security and non-clinical risk issues within the workplace, to ensure that the Trust meets and exceeds the statutory obligations required and achieve high standards of risk management.
In line with the Trust's Business Continuity Framework, ensure operational resilience in relation to risks to health and safety of staff and patients is further developed and that robust contingency plans are in place.
The health and Safety advisor will develop and implement occupational safety systems and processes, lead occupational safety improvement activities and provide expert occupational safety advice.
This will include working in a matrix-style relationship with other members of the Corporate Affairs and Governance Team to ensure a coordinated approach to safety is taken.
