Job Type: Full time Job Location: Chelmsford School Setting: Special School Contract Type: Contract   REF: SENDIRECT/191670 Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience Hours: 8:30-15:30 Start Date: Immediately   We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Headteacher to lead a Special School in Chelmsford.
This full-time contract position is perfect for an inspirational leader committed to driving positive educational outcomes for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  As the Headteacher, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership and management of the school, ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning are maintained.
You will work closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to create an inclusive, nurturing, and high-achieving school environment.

  Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic leadership to ensure high standards of teaching, learning, and student outcomes.
Manage the day-to-day operations of the school, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
Lead, inspire, and develop staff to deliver outstanding education.
Collaborate with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure holistic support for students.
Ensure compliance with SEN legislation and school policies.
Qualifications and Experience: Proven experience in a leadership role within a special school or similar setting is preferred.
Strong understanding of SEN legislation and best practices in special education.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
A relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS) and leadership qualification (e.g., NPQH).
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
