The Role... A unique opportunity has arisen at the Headland Hotel and Spa.
We are actively seeking a Head Pastry Chef to lead our pastry section in Restaurant RenMor which opened its doors in May 2023.
You will also support our other two restaurants, The Terrace and The Deck.

Supporting the Executive Head Chef and our Head Chefs in developing the food offering at the Headland.

Main Responsibilities: Lots to do, but lots of fun As Head Pastry Chef you will be responsible for ; Continually developing and delivering flavour driven and seasonally lead dishes Possessing an outstanding knowledge of ingredients, seasonality, techniques and cookery.
Working with your team to create a first class pastry section, preparing and presenting dishes to the highest standard, ensuring guest expectations are exceeded with every bite.
Ensuring that recipes are always followed accurately, controlling portion size and waste.
Ensuring supplies are correctly issued, used and accounted for to carry out stock takes and food rotation procedures.
Maintaining records relating to food production activities and supplier information.
Ensuring Health and Safety and Food Safety Standards are maintained in line with company policy and statutory law.
Setting objectives with your team and being responsible for the day to day running of the kitchen.
Maintaining strong and effective relationships with the RenMor Restaurant Manager and their front of house team.
Helping manage heart of house service areas to include cleanliness, hygiene, stock control and wastage.
Being responsible for coaching, training and mentoring the kitchen team.
Working alongside the Executive Head Chef, Head Chef, Restaurant Manager and teams to optimise sales and develop the business.
Salary and contract...
This is a permanent, full time contract, working 48 hours over 5 days including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
