Job Title: Head of Women's & Girl's Cricket Reporting to: Director of Cricket Location: Worcestershire County Cricket Club, New Road, Worcester, WR2 4QQ Contract term: Full time, permanent Proposed start date: March 2025 Background: Worcestershire County Cricket Club is one of the 18 major county Cricket clubs which make up the England and Wales Cricket Board.

Our Women's Team: Women's Cricket is undergoing significant change with the introduction of a three-tier domestic structure; Tier 1 with eight fully professional teams, Tier 2 with ten amateur teams with professional support teams, and Tier 3 with circa twenty amateur teams.
Worcestershire County Cricket Club is proud to have been awarded Tier 2 status for our Women's Rapids team and is seeking to recruit an exceptional leader to drive growth and development of elite Women's and Girl's Cricket in Worcestershire and ensure that our record of talent development and on-field success continues within the new ECB domestic Women's elite Cricket pyramid.
Purpose of the Role: The Head of Women's and Girl's Cricket at Worcestershire will lead the coaching and strategic direction of Women's and Girl's Performance Cricket, ensuring the delivery of the Performance Action Plan and compliance with ECB standards.
They will drive excellence and foster talent within this evolving framework, ensuring Worcestershire remains at the forefront of Women's cricket.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: • Lead on the strategic direction and coaching of Worcestershire Women's & Girl's Performance Cricket; • Be accountable for the delivery of the Women's and Girl's Performance Action Plan for Worcestershire and ECB Minimum Quality Standards evidenced through the Independent Talent Pathway Review; • Be a budget holder for Worcestershire Women's and Girl's performance programmes; • Manage and develop relationships with partner counties and other organisations; • Facilitate the integration of Science & Medicine into programmes for all Worcestershire players; • Oversee the development of all Cricket players in Worcestershire Women's & Girl's pathway – including the talent identification process and liaison with other programmes players are involved with, such as schools and clubs; • Keep up to date with best practice and expertise across player development; • Attend ECB CPD events and meetings to ensure alignment on player development; • Line management of all Coaches and Managers working within Worcestershire County Women's & Girl's programmes.

Requirements It is expected that the successful candidate will fulfil the below criteria: • Have proven experience in leading and managing cricket programmes for Women's and Girl's; • Be competent in developing and implementing performance action plans, encompassing both coaching and administrative responsibilities; • Experience of managing budgets and allocating financial resources effectively; • A thorough understanding of player development and talent identification, incorporating best practices in coaching and athlete progression; • The ability to establish and sustain partnerships with Tier 1 and Tier 3 counties and organisations; • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; • Knowledge of integrating sports science and medicine into player development programmes; • An understanding of national and local structures and pathways within Women's and Girl's Cricket; • A flexible attitude to working irregular and unsocial hours, including working outside normal office hours, at evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.
• The ability to work independently and effectively under pressure; • A collaborative team player with a commitment to our core values; • Full Driving Licence is essential, including the means to travel to training and match venues.
This role may involve training, supervising, working with and/or being in sole charge of children and young people.
The successful applicant will therefore be required to apply for an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Having a criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining a position.
You will need to have the Right to Work in the UK or be able to obtain this by the start date.

Benefits Hours, benefits and salary: This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week over an average of 5 days.
It will include some evening and weekend work, particularly during the Cricket season.
The salary for this role is circa £35,000 per annum.
