Description As the Head of Visual Merchandising and Space Planning, reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing and guiding the Visual team and managing the visual direction across the retail and wholesale estate.
Responsibilities Develop and Lead Visual Strategy: Accountable for defining and executing the company's visual merchandising strategy and guidelines, ensuring a consistent, inspiring customer experience that drives sales growth across the store portfolio.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire both central and field-based Visual Merchandising teams, fostering collaboration and excellence in execution.
Training and Development: Design and implement a comprehensive training strategy that supports business objectives while facilitating team development and progression.
Retail Calendar Management: Develop and maintain a retail calendar that aligns with company strategy, ensuring deadlines and business objectives are met.
Market Insight and Adaptation: Leverage a deep understanding of regional variations and external retail trends to capitalise on local and global opportunities, driving conversion and sales performance across stores.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner closely with key internal departments to ensure alignment and successful implementation of the retail strategy across the store network.
Store Design and Project Management: Collaborate with the Store Design team on refits and new store projects, ensuring retail and design requirements are fully integrated and met.
Project Oversight: Oversee all small works projects, refits, and new store openings, ensuring they are completed to business standards and timelines.
Collaborate with third-party brands to align and implement the shared retail strategy, including the integration of branded fixtures and displays.
Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to support the success of the VM function and wider business goals.
About You Prior experience in Senior Visual Merchandising role(s) or management of space planning.
You will have passion for fashion or sports retail with ability to impact commercial sales.
Flexibility to travel as and when the role requires Be able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
Be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational skills and effective time management.
Must be able to work to tight deadlines and cope with working under pressure.
An excellent communicator with the ability to build communication networks with store team and head office personnel.
Knowledge of Power BI and other reporting software is advantageous.
