As the Head of Technology Portfolio, you'll oversee the delivery and governance of a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and value realization.
Reporting to senior leadership, you'll play a pivotal role in managing the portfolio's roadmap, optimizing resources, and embedding a culture of disciplined delivery and agile transformation.
You'll lead a team of eight professionals, including Business Analysts, Architects, and Scrum Masters, all based in Milton Keynes.
With portfolio budgets under £5 million, the role involves managing legacy systems while steering an ambitious transformation project focused on modernizing infrastructure and advancing the organization's FinTech aspirations.
This high-visibility role involves collaboration with executives, global PMO teams, and regional leadership, making it an ideal stepping stone for your career growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Define, deploy, and execute a robust portfolio delivery roadmap with clear milestones and dependencies.
- Ensure optimal resource allocation and financial performance through effective portfolio budgeting and forecasting.
- Lead portfolio-level ceremonies, including PI Planning and syncs, and embed Lean Portfolio Management principles.
- Implement risk management practices to safeguard portfolio outcomes.
- Oversee the transformation journey, including mindset and cultural shifts, to elevate digital maturity.
- Foster collaboration across technical and non-technical teams while mentoring and developing PMO staff.
WHAT YOU'LL HAVE: - Leadership Skills: Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management abilities to engage with senior leaders and global teams.
- Portfolio Experience: Extensive experience in Lean Portfolio Management, including governance, reporting, and capacity management.
- Agile Expertise: Certified SAFe Practitioner with a strong understanding of Agile principles and tools.
- Technical Acumen: Comfortable working in a technical landscape, able to collaborate with developers and architects effectively.
- Transformation Experience: Proven track record of leading complex transformation initiatives, with a focus on culture, mindset, and ways of working.
- Soft Skills: Ability to build rapport, challenge constructively, and inspire teams in a collaborative environment.

LOCATION & COMMITMENT: You'll be contracted to 2 days per week onsite in Milton Keynes, with an initial requirement for 3 days per week during the first month to familiarize yourself with the team, business, and vision.
