Job Description At the forefront of modern farming and food production, G's is one of the largest fresh produce providers in the UK, producing over one billion packs of healthy products a year.
We are looking for an experienced Head of Technical Compliance to be responsible for the strategic management of food safety, quality assurance, environmental, ethical and supply chain integrity across the G's Fresh operations comprising Shropshire Group Companies, G's growers/group members and third-party suppliers.
This role will play a pivotal role in technical leadership and input into farming, process and product innovation covering both the G's European businesses and its suppliers while continuing to establish G's Fresh as the best in the industry for growing, quality, service, product and packaging innovation and technical excellence.
Co-ordination & support of the farms, ready to eat/wash before use & whole head product facilities across the G's Group ensuring we operate in a manner that meets or exceeds our customers & BRC codes of practise & standards with strategic technical input into projects while also having full management & control of all relevant legislation & G's representation on CFA/FPC technical committee/panels as part of industry standards improvement/engagement.
Key responsibilities: \n Ensure systems used throughout the Group and third-party suppliers deliver compliance with product safety, legality and quality requirements to meet the Company's commitments to food safety legislation and related issues.
\n Ensure that the implementation of electronic group internal auditing systems is in place covering all BRC & retailer codes of practise and standards & are readily review & communicated to the relevant boards as part of our senior management commitment \n Define and ensure compliance to technical and quality standards on all G's sites in line with or exceeding customer expectations & audit standards with an integrated group quality management system covering policies, procedures, guidance & risk assessments.
\n Adopt and promote GAP throughout the supply chain for all products supplied by G's Fresh ensuring the processes are regularly reviewed and the management of risk is pro-active using supplier approval & due diligence tools across the group into one centralised due diligence control system \n Monitor supplier performance (standards, quality, integrity etc) and develop supply base & drive the development, implementation and review process for customer Improvement Plans in the strategic PILLAR's. \n In partnership with the BU Teams, provide clarity and focus on tangible targets ensuring technical strategies and customer relationships are developed and maintained.
\n Provide leadership and direction for the technical functions in the farming, processing and marketing functions across the Group.
\n Act as the senior technical contact point for the group for compliance & food safety related activities/incidences and monitor technical performance against customer objectives.
\n Encourage a positive impact through the compliance activities on the environment, consumers, employees and communities.
\n Responsible for enabling a working environment which ensures all workers & the compliance team are engaged and enthused.
\n Responsible for the management of G's group internal auditing programmes across the UK, Europe, Africa & Europe & retailer certified agricultural standards.
\n Candidate requirements: \n Degree in a food related discipline & more than 10 years chilled foods with central/group compliance accountability & responsibility.
\n Exposure to retailer codes of practise/standards, chilled ready to eat, wash before use produce/chilled foods with multiple site/large single site responsibility \n Drive, ambition, confidence, enthusiastic, accurate, detailed, problem solver, methodical, timely, gravitas & a team player!
