Job Title : Head of Systems & Business Intelligence Job Location – London or Milton Keynes with remote working Reports to: Operational Excellence DirectorDirect reports: 2 x CMMS SME, 2 x Data Analysis, 1 x Data and Reporting ManagerOverview: We are seeking an ambitious, engaging, and talented Head of Systems & BI to spearhead the UK service technology operation and continual enhancement the solutions.
This will include IT and desktop support, our Real Suite and Astea computer maintenance management platforms, data governance, BI reporting, and data acquisition.
You will work closely with the Operational excellence office and Canada product owners to feed in UK specific fixes and enhancements.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of operational technology systems, data management principles, and a knack for process optimization.
This role will be pivotal in ensuring data quality, consistency, and reliability across our maintenance management platforms, as well as optimizing workflow processes and reporting using Power BI.Responsibilities:Platform Operation and Maintenance: Relationship and communication with the Canada product owners to become the UK CMMS expert.
Leadership - the day-to-day UK operation and maintenance of the Real Suite and Astea computer maintenance management platforms.
Upgrades - Oversee system configurations, upgrades, and integrations to ensure smooth operations and compatibility with organizational needs.
Collaborate with clients, operational teams and vendors to resolve technical issues and implement system enhancements.
Clients – To solution technology and present the UK tech stack and carry out demo's as part of new contract presentations and support bid responses.
Mobilisation – Lead the mobilisation service line for CMMS system set up which would include other 3rd party CMMS systems (Planon, Elogbooks, Concept) Cost Management – Plan operation and capital budgets for the management of the service line and ensure robust cost controls are in place.
DR & BCP – Lead ownership of the BGIS UK Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity working in conjunction with Global policy.
ISO27001 – Ensure compliance and certification to ISO 27001 Data Quality and Consistency: Develop and implement strategies to maintain high-quality and consistent data within the maintenance management platforms.
Data Governance - Establish data governance policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure data integrity and reliability.
Audits - Conduct regular audits and quality checks to identify and address data inconsistencies or anomalies.
IT Infrastructure and Desktop Support Infrastructure – Work with Canada team to ensure infrastructure is maintained and management of UK network or switches and routers across our contracts.
IT Support – Oversee the IT support desk, drive performance and enhance the quality of service to users covering password issues, hardware and software trouble shooting.
IT Suppliers and contractors – Manage the IT supply chain to budgets, consisting of software licencing and hardware suppliers as well as the key areas of .
Telephony contract Printer contract IT Desk outsourced.
Hardware suppliers Assignment of software licencing Hardware – manage hardware stock lifecycle across the business to include laptops, tablets, phones, switches and routers.
This will include inventory management and capital purchase of equipment, configuration and issue and returns.
SharePoint – Ensuring we maintain and exploit functionality to support the business with automation.
Cost management – Ensure cost controls are in place on spend limits for mobile phones, printer and ensure communication to users as appropriate.
Workflow Mapping and Optimization Process mapping - Analyze existing workflow processes within the maintenance management platforms and identify areas for optimization.
Cross functional Collaboration - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to map out workflow processes and streamline operations.
Automation - Implement workflow automation solutions to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
Reporting Consistency using Power BI: Design and develop Power BI reports and dashboards to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to maintenance operations.
Ensure consistency and accuracy in reporting by establishing standardized report templates and data visualization techniques.
Provide training and support to end-users on accessing and interpreting Power BI reports.
Accountability for the customer portal and reporting Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to operational technology and maintenance management.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation within the maintenance management platforms and processes.
Lead initiatives to implement process improvements, system enhancements, and technology upgrades.
SharePoint – Develop and maintain SharePoint solutions; Intrazone, Controlled Documents and apps and audit functions.
**Qualifications:** Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
ESSENTIAL - Microsoft certification in Power platform, Power BI certification, Azure admin ISO27001 Awareness training Proven experience in managing and operating computer maintenance management platforms, an advantage would be knowledge of Real Suite and Astea.
In-depth understanding of data management principles, including data governance, quality assurance, and data integration.
Proficiency in workflow mapping, process optimization, and automation techniques.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and identify actionable insights.
Experience in developing Power BI reports and dashboards is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
Proven track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives and delivering measurable results.
Certifications in relevant technologies or project management (., PMP, ITIL) are a plus.
