Connexus Recruitment is seeking an experienced and strategicHead of SHEQon behalf of our client, a globally respected manufacturer of specialist equipment.
This is a rare opportunity to lead and enhance safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) standards across a global operation.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the SHEQ strategy, driving cultural transformation, and ensuring compliance with all legislative and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Develop and implement a robust SHEQ strategy to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement across global operations.
Foster a positive SHEQ culture, inspiring trust and leading with integrity.
Collaborate with senior leaders to promote health and safety at all levels, supporting them to meet SHEQ responsibilities effectively.
Set and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure and drive performance improvements.
SHEQ Management Develop, maintain, and implement SHEQ policies, ensuring alignment with ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, and relevant legislation.
Oversee certification processes and lead audits for ISO standards.
Stay informed of new legislation, technical standards, and codes of practice relevant to the business.
Incident Management and Audits Manage incident investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Lead inspection and internal audit programs, analysing trends and ensuring compliance with management systems.
Engagement and Training Drive employee engagement through initiatives, campaigns, and training to embed SHEQ best practices.
Lead and develop the SHEQ team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Collaboration and Reporting Liaise with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and clients.
Prepare detailed reports on SHEQ performance and contribute to prequalification and tender submissions.
Monitor and manage annual SHEQ budgets.
Qualifications and Skills Essential NEBOSH Level 6 or equivalent in Occupational Safety and Health.
Demonstrable experience of operational SHEQ experience, with 5 years in a senior role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
In-depth knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001 standards.
Comprehensive understanding of legal HSE policies and guidelines.
Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong planning and organizational skills with a focus on detail and continuous improvement.
Desirable ISO Internal Auditor qualification.
Additional Requirements Willingness to travel internationally as required.
A team-oriented yet assertive approach, with the ability to inspire and motivate.
