We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SEO leader to drive the growth and success of Yell.com on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract to start early January 2025 .
As the Head of SEO, you will be responsible for SEO for our hero product Yell.com.
Leading the strategy and developing tactical roadmaps that significantly enhance organic search rankings and achieve measurable outcomes for our business customers.
This senior role is best suited for a strategic leader with experience working on large enterprise websites.
The SEO remit will include technical SEO, content and Digital PR, working alongside product, tech and marketing teams to execute.
You'll also own all Yell.com reporting and analysis, constantly monitoring performance and regularly reporting on traffic metrics to key stakeholders across the business.

Responsibilities : Developing and executing successful SEO strategies, particularly in the marketplace sector, and will leverage deep technical expertise to solve complex SEO challenges and deliver measurable business outcomes.
Strategy Development and Execution : Lead the development and execution of industry-leading SEO strategies tailored to meet the unique needs of Yell.com.
Team and Agency Management : Oversee and manage an in-house team and external agencies.
Provide guidance on best practices, emerging industry trends, and innovative approaches to SEO.
Technical SEO : Utilise advanced knowledge of SEO, including AI, automation, and cutting-edge SEO tools, to implement best-in-class tactics and continuously optimise site performance.
Content: Lead the content strategy for a new blog.
Managing a team of in-house and freelancers to execute first-class EEAT content.
Digital PR: Work alongside an agency to deliver robust digital PR plans, gaining consistent backlinks with a high domain authority.
Data-Driven Decision Making : Navigate complex SEO challenges with a data-driven approach, using advanced analytics to identify opportunities, solve problems, and deliver results that support business growth.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting : Develop and maintain performance reports and share insights with key stakeholders across the organisation.
Skills we would like you to have : Proven track record of developing and implementing successful SEO strategies for an enterprise website (marketplace experience preferred).
In-depth knowledge of technical SEO practices, including site architecture, crawling, indexing, site speed, mobile optimisation, structured data, and AI/automation tools in SEO.
Proven success leading and motivating teams, fostering a high-performance culture, and driving growth through collaboration and innovation.
Ability to navigate complex challenges and deliver innovative solutions, based on data, that drives business growth.
Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to distill complex SEO insights for non-technical audiences.
Exceptional client and C-suite stakeholder management skills with the ability to build strong relationships and drive business outcomes.
Proficient in the use of SEO reporting and crawling tools (e.g., Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, SEMrush, Ahrefs, etc).
This role is remote with occasional visits to our Reading office and is a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract (Employed not a day rate).
