To succeed in this role you must be suitably experienced in P/Way design engineering as well as having a Bachelors/Master's degree in Civil Engineering or relevant qualification.

Whilst there is no set location for this role, you should note it will require the ability to travel in line with business needs.
Our Rail teams are currently located in London, Birmingham, Southampton, Frome and Leeds.
You will join our UK Rail Systems department As our new Permanent Way Lead, you will drive the growth and delivery of our Permanent Way projects to meet our client's challenges whilst ensuring technical excellence and operational performance.
We are seeking an individual that can lead the growth of this discipline in the UK for Ramboll.
Ramboll Group brings an excellent track record in this area with over 70 PWay staff worldwide.
You will initially seek to grow our UK PWay portfolio by drawing on these global resources together with our strategic supply chain.
As we embed our delivery in this space, you will be supported to grow a UK based team to serve our client's needs.
The successful candidate will enhance our capability and provide leadership to our lineside and station infrastructure projects and help drive the growth of this team.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be: Lead the development of the UK based PWay team, drawing on global resources as required.Carry out the duties of PWay Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) or Project Engineer (PE) as required.Ensure internal and contractor's design/construction/specialists' personnel have the correct competencies.Manage all PWay engineering activities on allocated projects so that they result in schemes that are affordable and meet programme requirements in a safe and environmentally responsible manner for time, cost and quality.Manage the design and/or construction elements of allocated projects ensuring they meet the requirements of current legislation, including construction design management (CDM) and CSM-RA regulations.Provide advice in respect of all construction activities, including testing and commissioning and site supervision.Assist the Head of Rail Systems UK in developing a culture of technical excellence by driving a right first-time approach.Assist in the preparation of Tenders and proposals.Undertake the checking, review and approval of design in accordance with the Design Delivery programme.Key Deliverables for the first 12 months: Identify and secure work package pipeline.Develop the UK PWay team to meet the demands of the pipeline.Your starting point for constant growth Degree/HNC with strong, demonstratable experience.An understanding of the arrangements required for the independent assessment of work.Experience in people management.A working knowledge of RSSB Group, Network Rail and other client Standards.Specific experience of project development for PWay, NR approval processes and deliverables criteria for PWay projects.Current or past CRE status or proven evidence of being appointed to act as CRE / Network Rail Project Engineer for a period of time.Ideally, membership of (or working towards) the Permanent Way Institution.Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include: Being self-motivated and able to build collaborative working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
Willingness to take responsibility and ownership for completing tasks.
