Head of Product Strategy A bit about us Gamma is a leading supplier of Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS): we provide voice, data and mobile products and services to the UK, German, Spanish and Benelux business markets.
Gamma is expanding its UCaaS presence in Europe with a family of businesses focusing on digital automation, delivering Gamma-powered services to SME customers via a network of channel partners in Germany, Spain, and the Benelux region.
What will you be doing day-to-day?
The Head of Product Strategy role brings together strategy and the commercial realities of Gamma's business and markets to ensure that Gamma has a long term and short term plan for the evolution of our offering which supports short and long term commercial success.
The role will drive and support successful evolution of a category of our portfolio of capabilities we have today and support definition of capabilities we need in future.
As with any Product and Commercial Management role at a modern technology company, the specifics of the role will be varied.
Whilst you will have one product or area of focus, you will also be working on a variety of other projects all aligned with Gamma's core strategy.
Key Responsibilities: This role acts at the level of a category of products across all territories and routes to market.
Support the definition of the overall category product and service portfolio, now and in the future.
Define, agree and communicate the evolution paths for the wider portfolio and its components.
Engagement with a range of stakeholders to gather input and views and consolidate the feedback to form a vision and ambition for the portfolio.
Interpret and assess external trends/data/etc to clearly articulate how they will shape the category portfolio and future evolution.
Evaluate potential future products within the category, including looking at strategic fit, commercial return, and how they can be implemented.
Take a portfolio view of data and insight to review the overall portfolio and recommend the appropriate balance of effort and investment in the component parts.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that portfolio evolution occurs at the right pace and is also responsive to changing market/business needs; create clarity on the sequencing of events which yields the greatest returns.
Where required and appropriate, take an evangelist role internally and externally to demonstrate the value and capability of the wider portfolio.
Maintain a regular viewpoint on the market to identify and engage with potential commercial partners who may form part of the portfolio.
Support the in-life management and development of certain relationships with key partners and vendors.
Be a focal point of knowledge and provocative perspectives within the business.
Understand the economics and performance of the products within your remit and be able to challenge and drive growth through your understanding of the market and customers.
Understand the costs and constraints on the category.
Working with technology, understand what the detailed roadmap will deliver and when and maintain a healthy dialogue to advocate for the right sequence of delivery to ensure we are able to deliver product to meet market opportunities.
Support and develop the wider team and ensure that the team has the necessary balance of skills and experience to stay ahead of the market.
Be a visible role model for the company's values and behaviours across the team and wider business.
Key Relationships: This role will naturally engage with all parts of the organisation to receive information, to understand needs and requirements and to gather information and feedback, as well as to disseminate information on the evolution of the portfolio.
Particular groups will include: Wider product team Marketing Technology Finance What you'll need: Product or Commercial Management in technology or telecommunications environments.
Strong end-to-end ownership attitude, with a relentless focus on helping us achieve success across the Gamma business, focusing attention where it is most needed.
Deep understanding of B2B environments and associated routes to market.
Experience of building and managing complex vendor relationships.
International experience.
Ability to manage projects within an organisation.
Strong influencing skills (sometimes without hierarchical authority).
Able to work to tight timescales.
Ability to define a problem and then structure a path to a solution.
Skilled at financial and commercial modeling in Excel, including options analysis.
Strong experience of understanding how a product gets enabled for new routes to market including technical aspects and the GTM.
Proficient in the use of IT with a good working knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel & Outlook.
Data driven and able to articulate and communicate the message behind the data.
Excellent written and presentational skills.
