Job Purpose We are looking for someone to join our high performing ViiV Procurement team to take on the role of Head of Procurement for Global ViiV.
In the team, we are the 'face' of procurement to our ViiV business – GSK's innovative, fast paced and agile specialist HIV business.

This role represents a great opportunity for you to build strong relationships with a variety of diverse stakeholders (up to SVP level) across the ViiV business.
You will use these relationships to understand objectives, priorities and, business strategy to lead the procurement efforts to support ViiV in achieving these goals.
This may include ambitious cost savings, driving value including top line growth and managing risk and/or ensuring that the right suppliers are being chosen.
All supporting the overall ViiV strategy.

In this role you will be responsible forStrategy executionAlign & work in collaboration with Global category teams to provide ViiV business requirements through preferred suppliers and sourcing modelsExecute global sourcing strategies for multiple spend categories in scope of responsibility, operating with a truly global mindset and ensuring all applicable ViiV needs are accommodatedBe the local expert in agreed spend categories and ViiV BU's within scope of responsibilityHave a clear understanding of how global strategies affect ViiV and build an education & communication process for your stakeholdersPartner with, and lead the Procurement Global Delivery Centre (GDC) where required to contribute to value delivery through project executionBenefit deliveryEnsure financial benefits are managed in accordance with the procurement Savings methodology approach, ensuring business unit and Finance agreement to financial value delivered and transparency on treatment of benefits in the budgeting processNegotiate goods and services contracts with suppliers that secure favourable terms for ViiV in line with the agreed business requirementsCreate and deliver effective budgets (plans of purchase) agreed with key stakeholders and Finance in accordance with the Savings methodologyBusiness partnering & stakeholder management in GSKBuild strategic relationships with ViiV stakeholders, to understand business requirements, identify opportunities to create value and to position Procurement's value proposition.
Align sourcing strategies accordinglyInfluence key stakeholders and business partners to support strategy development, endorse recommended strategies, support execution and agree how benefit delivery will be budgetedExternal supplier relationshipsExecute and manage effective contracts with suppliers that will allow ViiV to maximize opportunity globally.
Ensure global views on supplier negotiations are takenManage the supply base for the categories within scope through a robust performance management process.
Ensure supplier performance is understood and measured.Identification/evaluation of new and diverse vendors in line with agreed business requirements, as well as tracking and monitoring of service level agreements and performance standards for existing vendorsEnsure suitable processes and communication links exist between above country supplier organization structures and local & regional networks to ensure effective process and communication cascade through supplier and GSK network and geographiesSupply chain & risk managementContribute to the transformation of the supply chain to release value and make ViiV more responsive to business and customer needs – for example in cost control, complexity reduction, simplification, best practice procurement and use of KPIsIdentify and manage risks in the supply chain.
Ensure appropriate mitigation plans are in place and in use and that the risks are communicated appropriately within business units impacted, Procurement and the supply baseWhy you?Basic Qualifications & Skills: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Procurement experience including the ability to support multiple spend categories as well as experience of working procurement roles within the Pharmaceutical IndustryBusiness senior stakeholder management and influencing, this includes the ability to build strong relationships and to influence without express authorityExperience managing strategic suppliers (including performance management) and driving and delivering business impacting cost savings through strong negotiation skillsAbility and track record to manage complex contract negotiationsExperience leading complex supplier tender/RFP processes in collaboration with cross functional teamsStrong project management and prioritisation ability, enabling the management of multiple key projects and senior stakeholders in parallelPreferred Qualifications & Skills: Please note the following skills are not necessary, just preferred, if you do not have them, please still apply: Qualified to bachelor's degree level or equivalent experienceCategory experience within commercial categories eg.
Marketing & SalesStrong experience in using Purchase to Pay tools like SAP/Ariba or other equivalent sourcing execution and contract lifecycle technologyCommitted to delivering high quality results, overcoming challenges, focusing on what matters, execution.Indirect category management, cost model synthesis and supplier relationship management for delivering multi-country, high spend complex engagements.Key Skills: Strong negotiations skillsStrong contract management skillsStrong analytical skills with the ability to support decision making through analysisCommunication and presentation skillsInfluencing skills – both internal stakeholders and external suppliersCommercial and financial acumen – Budgeting and forecastingClosing Date for Applications – 22nd January 2025 (COB) Please take a copy of the Job Description, as this will not be available post closure of the advert.
