Role overview:   Head of Procurement - Technology London Currys London Campus at Waterloo (LHO002) Permanent Full Time Grade 6     The Head of Procurement (Technology) at Currys is a senior leader in the UK Procurement function, responsible for leading a highly effective and engaged team of category specialists and setting the standard of professional procurement practice.
You will work closely with key business stakeholders and suppliers to execute high quality strategic solutions that supports the Currys technology transformation agenda, delivering value and having significant commercial influence over Currys third party expenditure.
The position will focus on optimizing procurement processes, managing key supplier relationships, driving best value and mitigating risk in all sourcing decisions.
Working collaboratively and in close partnership with the technology leaderships team, they will also surface and execute on opportunities that drive value through effective group sourcing synergies.

Role overview: You will •    Develop and implement a procurement strategy aligned with Currys overall business objectives and digital transformation goals.
•    Drive cost-saving initiatives, ensuring high-quality technology solutions while optimizing procurement processes and reducing total cost of ownership.
•    Be an effective business partner and trusted advisor to the group leadership team •    Maintains a center of excellence for the Head of UK Procurement, providing strategic direction and management information for the category.
•    Implements and maintains a Preferred Supplier lists across the category and drives supplier and product/service rationalisation.
•    Works with key business stakeholders and the Head of UK Procurement to facilitate innovation and value improvement from priority supplier relationships.
•    Ensures that all contracts for strategic, critical and preferred suppliers within the category have commercial rigour, mitigate risk, incorporate continuous improvement targets  •    Represents Procurement on Executive Boards or forums and delivers key reports and presentations as required.
•    Leads and coaches others in the areas of category management, supplier relationship management and procurement policy  •    Develops, approves and implements appropriate category plans through effective engagement with the business stakeholders.
•    Develops and embeds procurement policy in support of CPO function.
•    Promotes ethical procurement practices  •    Fosters a high-performance culture within the team, encouraging collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
You will need: •    Proven experience in a senior IT procurement role, ideally within the retail, technology, or telecommunications sector.
•    Strong knowledge of Technology products and services, including software, hardware, cloud solutions, and managed services.
•    Track record of successful supplier negotiation and strategic relationship management, delivering demonstrable cost savings, risk mitigation and wider value improvement  •    Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
•    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels (i.e.
c-suite).
