A quick look at the role The Head of HR will lead the people function at CSG, driving talent development, inclusivity, and performance by delivering strategic people plans aligned with business goals.
Build strong relationships to inspire change while aligning CSG's strategy with Biffa Group policies and maximising Group benefits.
Focus on CSG's unique needs through a dedicated people team.
Your core responsibilities Develop and deliver people strategies and an annual people plan aligned with the CSG business strategy, including Community Shop, a Social Enterprise.
Act as a strategic business partner to the MD and leadership team on organisation design, business change, and people-related matters.
Lead talent management, succession planning, recruitment, and learning & development to ensure the workforce meets current and future business needs.
Drive employee engagement and communications, supporting leadership to embed action plans that enhance engagement levels and foster a positive, inclusive culture.
Provide people data and insights for performance monitoring, informed decision-making, and continuous improvement, while managing HR projects, including business change.
Lead the HR team to deliver exceptional services, manage employee relations effectively, and uphold a supportive, progressive, and risk-aware working environment.
Requirements Our essential requirements Qualifications and Knowledge : Fully CIPD qualified with a degree-level education; expert knowledge of employment law, HR practices, TUPE, M&A, restructuring, safeguarding, and change management.
Experience: Proven leadership in HR, including talent management, recruitment, reward, L&D, employee relations, and inclusion, with over 5 years at a senior level Strategic Skills: Experienced in developing and implementing people strategies, managing succession planning, and delivering effective L&D solutions.
Leadership and Interpersonal Skills: Strong leadership, coaching experience, and the ability to build relationships with empathy, influence, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Analytical and Operational Skills: High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, IT literacy, and capability in reporting and managing complex people matters Benefits Biffa – we're changing the way people think about waste At Biffa, we love working with waste.
