Access & Medicine Division Head of Neurophysiology Band 8A.
Full time, 37.5 hours per week An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 8A Head of Neurophysiology at the Royal Surrey.
As Head of Neurophysiology, you will be working in a fast-paced, busy and exciting environment.
You will be fundamental to managing the day-to-day operations and hold responsibility for the overall performance of the service.
The post holder will work in close liaison with our Neurology Consultants, Neurology Specialty Manager and Head of Service for Medicine, and is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to ensure services continue to improve and develop.
The successful candidate should be a flexible, highly motivated and proactive individual who is effective in managing both their own workload and that of their team.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required as well as the ability to influence and motivate at all levels.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required to support you in understanding and delivering against constitutional performance targets.

Trains, supervises, assesses and mentors Clinical Physiology (Neurophysiology) students and trained Physiologists in Diagnostic procedures.
Performs, analyses and reviews a range of complex Neurophysiological investigations and produces reports for Clinicians and General Practitioners.

Job description Job responsibilities JOB SUMMARY Manage the delivery of the neurophysiology service and have line management responsibility for clinical neurophysiologists and department administrative and clerical staff.
Responsible for the management of the Waiting Lists in accordance with Trust and National targets.
The jobholder is expected to demonstrate a high level of competence in all aspects of advanced neurophysiology techniques which include EEG and Nerve Conduction Studies.
Person Specification Knowledge Essential Minimum of 5 years previous experience including some management and/or supervisory experience Practical experience of a range of Neurophysiological investigations Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality Understanding of equality and diversity issues and how this affects patients, visitors and staff Broad knowledge of Neurophysiology services.
