You will ensure the provision of safe, effective, and evidence-based care for the birthing people within our catchment areas and that staff and service users are safe, cared for, and listened to.
You will provide visible and compassionate leadership.We would like to invite a senior midwife with demonstrable skills and knowledge of the current maternity services and extensive operational experience of leading maternity services to apply for this exciting opportunity at the James Paget University Hospital.The post holder will support the Divisional Operations Director (DOD) of Surgery and Women's & Children's Services in developing and delivering a strategic approach to midwifery that meets the needs of the local population with a specific focus on the deprivation, diversity and inclusion agenda.
Main duties of the job The post holder will support the DOD in the professional leadership, development and management of midwifery and support teams to facilitate the delivery of excellent midwifery and nursing practice that is evidence based and measurable.
The post holder will be responsible for the management and quality of patient care delivered in respect of choice and personalisation.You will be a true advocate of the development of service and are required to both drive and promote continuous improvement.
You will work collaboratively to: Lead the ongoing development of services to ensure a sustainable service in terms of workforce planning to attain provision of the right staff, and access to care for our service users.Be accountable for the delivery and monitoring of the Three-Year Delivery Plan for Maternity.Help develop the Equity and Equality Strategy within the Maternity StrategyEnsure implementation of the local, regional and national initiatives in a timely and responsive mannerEnsure compliance to other national drivers, standards, and regulations Ockenden, Care Quality Commission (CQC)To see continuous improvement year on year.
