The Role:
The head of Logistics & Supply Chain will be responsible for leading the European logistics operation & Supply Chain function, formulating strategy and process to ensure operational excellence and best practice in the movement of goods for 3 brands. The role will work currently functionally, both internally and externally, to ensure we are working with partners that will best serve our current needs, whilst providing the highest possible level of service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:Define and deploy the logistics strategy (inbound and outbound).Continuous analysis of costs of movement of goods, and benchmarking against alternative providers.Develop a logistics budget in cooperation with the finance department and negotiable costs and set up contacts accordingly.Help to coordinate 3rd party warehouse operations, transportation inbound from worldwide and outbound within Europe, including associated customs activities.Work closely with the commercial departments to plan disposal of obsolete inventory.Continuous process improvement both internally within the department and utilising internal IT within Europe, the wider fast retailing group and external vendors.Ensure master data is regularly and accurately maintained to support business processes.Develop and operate effective management processes, including regular reports and meetings as required to support the delivery of the KPI.Work closely with 3rd party warehouses to ensure customer deliveries are shipped in a timely manner.Responsible for reviewing the logistics component of all contracts in place with clients (existing and new) to ensure any agreed obligations are possible to fulfil. Advise sales and legal team and ensure timely answers are provided.Responsible for inventory accuracy and report to finance for monthly closing.The line manager has responsibility for a logistics manager and 2 logistics administrators.The Ideal Candidate:A strong understanding of import and export operations and requirements.Must have had significant experience and technical skills in the management of logistics operations (warehousing and transport).Experience in supply chain management will be beneficial, particularly within the European region.Strong and able to demonstrate an understanding of commercial and business needs.Excellent working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.Experience in system interfaces between internal ERP systems and 3rd party warehouses.Excellent at working and delivering against deadlines and the ability to work under pressure.A proactive approach to tackling issues and an ability to identify and implement solutions.Strong sense of ownership and accountability.Proactive and positive in approach.Results orientated, a proven track record in delivering successful change in an operational environment and process improvements.Able to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with all internal and external customers and at all levels of the organisation.Next Steps:
