Job Description Lead and manage all laboratory operations, ensuring optimal efficiency, productivity, and performance across all areas of testing.
Ensure that laboratory areas are organised, free from clutter, and all surfaces are clean, ensuring a safe and professional working environment.
Promote and maintain safety and professionalism, ensuring all team members adhere to the same standards.
Provide leadership and mentorship to department managers and laboratory staff, fostering a culture of accountability, development, and high performance.
Oversee the investigation of nonconformances and contribute to continuous improvement processes.
Act as the primary point of contact between laboratory operations and senior management, ensuring alignment of operational goals with business objectives.
Assist in internal and external audits, ensuring full cooperation and timely investigation of audit findings.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of lab management.

Qualifications & experience Degree/HNC in a scientific discipline or equivalent experience.
3+ years of relevant work experience in analytical chemistry (experience in environmental chemistry is highly desirable).
Technical knowledge of environmental testing and various instrumental techniques.
Previous management experience, with strong people management and leadership skills.
Familiarity with ISO 17025:2017, MCERTS requirements, and LIMS systems - preferable LEAN methodology experience - preferable Exceptional people management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organisational skills and resilience under pressure.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
Competency in PC software (intermediate level), with strong numerical and verbal reasoning skills.
