Your responsibilities cover everything from crafting visionary strategies to rolling up your sleeves and making it happen on board.
You will lead the design, development, and supplier management of the inflight product portfolio in line with the customer experience proposition for TUI Airline. Leading the strategy and standards for all soft products, including catering of relevant haul types, Mid Haul, Long haul to deliver the holiday airline vision with particular focus on the food and beverage, sustainability, equipment and all the required legislation and health and safety aspects.
As this role will cover both strategic and operational elements and our ideal candidate will be highly commercial with operational end to end exposure of inflight catering from design, through supplier management to full onboard implementation. Beyond catering, this role is about inspiring and leading a team to craft unforgettable moments for our passengers.
The role can be based at (or within reasonable commutable distance of) any of our Airline Source Market offices in Luton, Rijswijk, Zaventem, Hannover or Stockholm. We are happy to consider this opportunity on a hybrid working model basis in line with local office requirements. As the role will lead a virtual team across our TUI Airline network there will be a regular requirement to be onsite both in our Source Market offices or down route/at outstations, so we anticipate circa 25% of your time will be spent travelling. Therefore willingness and flexibility in this regard will be required.
ABOUT THE JOB Collaborate with the Head of Customer Experience to shape the entire inflight journey across all TUI airlines. This encompasses catering, food and beverage, equipment, and sustainability. Drive NPS growth through usage of customer and commercial data as well as food, technology, and soft product trends to drive innovation in the inflight customer experience. Lead the definition of the meal specifications, special meal strategy, adapting of local requirements and specific menu profiles, ancillary culinary design, including seeking opportunities for brand / culinary chef partnerships, appropriate standards, and associated legislation adherence. Drive sustainability initiatives supporting the overall Airline TUI Group Sustainability agenda with focus on circular economy, food waste management, responsibility sourced products and single use plastics reductions. Collaborate closely with the Head of Supply Chain to ensure alignment between vision and strategy, enabling consistent delivery of our onboard promise by operational and cabin services teams. Work in collaboration with the Airline AOCs, Nominated Person to achieve all required safety and regulatory aspects, including Crew meals specification and delivery. Take accountability for contract and relationship management with multiple suppliers worldwide, managing consistency of quality delivery, commercial delivery together with Head of Supply Chain. To include project, Ad Hoc operations, new airport and destinations; catering facility set up, audit and compliance and adherence. Coordination with key internal stakeholders and other management teams on all supplier activity and deliver timely RFPs, business cases, financial approvals, and implementation plans. ABOUT YOU Transformational leader able to inspire and drive high-performing teams. Strong knowledge of hospitality/Aviation industry, particularly in food and beverage area. Proficient in supplier management, and all related topics, contract tenders, negotiations, service level agreements, commercial management. In-depth knowledge of food and beverage for inflight catering, including special meal requirements, local market, demographic flavours. Solid in-depth knowledge of all F & B related areas and of market / industry trends. Good understanding of quality management, health and safety and risk management principles and processes. Excellent relationship, stakeholder influencing and the ability to work within a global setting. A self-motivated leader who takes the initiative and works collaboratively with a track record of motivating and developing a diverse and dispersed team.
