Head of Health & Safety - Leicestershire £450 per day (Outside IR35) Monday to Friday 0700 - 1700Initial 3- 6 month contract (Chance of extension)NEBOSH, CSCS White or Black Card Required, First Aid Must of had experience in a senior EHS role, with a strong focus on UK safety regulationsProven experience managing teams & peopleThe EHS Manager will take a leadership role in ensuring the implementation and compliance with UK environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards on-site.
This position requires a proactive, boots-on-the-ground leader who can effectively communicate with site teams, project managers, and customers to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
The EHS Manager will be pivotal in leading by example, addressing challenges, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.Key Responsibilities:• Leadership and Oversight: Act as a visible leader on-site, promoting a culture of safety and ensuring compliance with UK EHS regulations.• Team Management: Lead and inspire on-site teams to maintain high safety standards, providing clear direction and support.• EHS Compliance: Oversee the adherence to all applicable UK EHS regulations and standards, ensuring documentation and reporting requirements are met.• Incident Management: Handle safety-related situations decisively, including immediate response, root-cause analysis, and implementing preventive measures.• Communication: Act as a competent point of contact for customers, project managers, and teams, ensuring effective communication of safety standards and expectations.• Monitoring and Action: Conduct site inspections, identify risks, and intervene when necessary to address unsafe behaviors or conditions.Key Skills and Competencies:• Leadership: Strong leadership capabilities to inspire and guide teams toward achieving a safe working environment.• Problem-Solving: Ability to address and resolve safety-related challenges quickly and effectively.• Strong Communication: Skilled in engaging with workers, project managers, and customers, ensuring clear and consistent communication.• Technical Proficiency: In-depth understanding of UK EHS practices and the ability to implement safety protocols effectively.• Resilience: Able to manage high-pressure situations with confidence and composure.Qualifications:• NEBOSH Certification.• CSCS Card (White or Black preferred).• First Aid Certification.• Proven experience in a senior EHS role, with a strong focus on UK safety regulations.• Proven Experience managing Teams and peopleThis role is ideal for a confident, solutions-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic site environment and is passionate about fostering a culture of safety and compliance.
