We are looking for an experienced Strategy leader to join our Group Strategy function at M&S.
As a Head of Strategy, you will help shape and improve the M&S strategy across the business - Food, Clothing and Home, International, technology, and stores.
You will partner with the leaders of the business to accelerate the pace of transformation and solve their biggest problems, and lead some of the business' most important and complex projects.
To stay close to customers, our support teams are in the office three days a week as we believe that skills are developed through collaboration, and that spending time together makes us more creative and connected.
What you'll do Your key accountabilities will include: Leading end-to-end strategic reviews, supported by Strategy Managers: identifying, framing and prioritising the opportunities; working with the businesses to conduct a diagnosis, generate options, and make a decision; and ensuring we complete at the right pace.
Accelerating the pace of transformation, rolling sleeves up to resolve roadblocks where needed.
Beyond individual projects, helping build the overarching vision for the next stage of M&S.
Partnering with the leaders of M&S and colleagues across the Group as a source of challenge and thought partnership.
Maximising the impact of the broader strategy team, including supporting recruitment, team development, and ways of working.
Who you are Your skills and experience will include: Proven ability to identify, design and lead strategy projects from a Consulting firm.
Exceptional critical thinking and structured problem-solving skills, and analytical skills.
Concise and persuasive written and verbal communications.
Able to form relevant, valuable and challenging perspectives, telling it like it is to senior partners, holding under challenge, while listening and learning from alternative views.
Expertise and functional / industry experience relevant to M&S - e.g., fashion, food, retail and digital.
