Job Purpose: HSB UK & I includes HSB Engineering Insurance Limited (HSBEIL) an insurance firm, HSB Engineering Insurance Services Limited (HSBEISL) an engineering firm and MD Group a Managing General Agent along with subsidiaries providing numerous services including surveying.
HSBEIL operates in a regulated industry, with the PRA (Prudential Regulation Authority) and FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) being its principal regulators in the UK.
This is a key finance leadership role that will provide the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) support to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and high level of financial control.
The Head of Financial Operations will lead a finance team supporting all the businesses within HSBEIL, HSBEISL and MD Group to deliver efficient and accurate internal financial reporting and management of operational accounting processes including banking, cashflow, treasury and investments.
Key Responsibilities: Provide leadership to a team of approx.
10-15 finance colleagues supporting HSB UK&I entities Support the provision of accurate and timely internal financial reporting to Group and Parent, by provision of reliable and well understood financial results Own and co-ordinate management of treasury and banking activities including cash flow forecasting and monitoring Ensure high levels of financial control ensuring integrity of the general ledger and documentation of end-to-end processes Ensure effective accounts payable processes Drive changes to improve procedures and enhance automation to improve efficiency whilst ensuring effectiveness of controls Act as people manager to 2 managers including co-ordination of team workload, carrying out performance management and contributing to development opportunities.
Act as lead contact for ad-hoc queries and information requests as required Additional Skills and Responsibilities Interacting with People: Establishing relationships and maintaining contacts with employees including Senior Management/Key decision makers.

Ability and willingness to work flexibly and across locations, where deadlines require, within the Companys required operating hours Key Skills and Experience Essential Experience in financial accounting, and financial reporting.
Up to date knowledge of IFRS, US and UK GAAP accounting standards.
Strong analytical skills Strong communication skills, both written & verbal Fluent using Microsoft packages i.e.
Excel.
Desirable Experience working in a similar organisation.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements: Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent Personal Attributes: Strong organisational skills.
