Key leadership role Working for a VC backed UK business About Our Client A long established, UK business, our client operates in a niche FMCG sector. The business has recently been acquired and is now looking at the next phase of growth in line with the Group vision.
Job Description Finance Function Review: Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the existing finance function, including workflows, processes, team, and scalability.Finance Function Development: Together with Group CFO, design and implement a best-in-class finance function seamlessly aligned with the operations function, enhancing integration across systems, processes, and workflows.Financial Management: Oversee all financial functions, including accounting, payroll, billing, and sales ledgerBe hands on, with full control of all financial processes, implement new processes and professionalise the finance function with support from Group CFOIntegrate and consolidate monthly accounts and financial statements, cash flow and forecasts for all UK entitiesUK statutory accounts completion and external audit.Ad-hoc projects as required by management, e.g. implement new ERP system together with Group CFOResponsible for all financial and UK tax compliance matters.Ensure proper internal controls are in place, manage segregation of duties and maintain a culture of compliance by demonstrating good judgement.Ensure that all financial transactions are correctly processed and appropriately reflected in the General Ledger in all UK entities.Ensure timely and accurate reporting in line with Group reporting requirements.Develop procedures to ensure consistent, supportable, and auditable reporting.Oversee the whole finance function including planning, reporting, risk, and accounting while understanding and mitigating key elements of the company's risk profile The Successful Applicant You will be a qualified Accountant with a proven track record within a similar "hands on" senior finance role, with a strong level of accounting competence. It is desirable that the candidate comes from a high volume FMCG environment and specifically has knowledge of stock, ideally someone that understands selling products from overseas.

You will have excellent communication and presentation skills and be comfortable working with all levels from senior stakeholders to operational staff across the business. You will have strong financial reporting and analysis skills and proven ability to deliver under tight deadlines and balance multiple objectives.

The role would suit a candidate that can demonstrate integrity and a strong work ethic, able to work in a fast-paced growing SME. Experience working with ERP systems would be highly advantageous.
