Reporting to the Estate Manager, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial control for two estates. The estates, which sit in beautiful countryside, are involved in the maintenance and restoration of listed buildings with some sustainable farming activity, let properties and a publicly accessible art gallery (due to be completed in 2025). You will be involved in facilitating delivery of the Dyson family legacy through ensuring operational and project funding is forecast, controlled and monitored. You will also be the strategic lead for project management, IT and insurance.
Requirements Role Specific Responsibilities Develop and maintain a close relationship with the Estate Owners, Estate Manager, Family Office and other relevant stakeholders. Manage differing objectives and deliver appropriate solutions.
Support the Estate Manager and participate in the Senior Leadership Team to develop and drive the strategy of the Estate.
Manage and develop the Finance Team to support Estate managers (c13), through a business partnering approach.
Work with the Programme Manager to ensure headcount is appropriate to deliver planned work and that KPIs can be effectively measured and reported.
Ensure the Project Framework is aligned with the forecast process, making appropriate adjustments when required.
Oversee preparation of the annual budget.
Oversee reporting against budget and provide meaningful analysis to facilitate operational decision making.
Provide appropriate reporting for budget holders to monitor performance at a cost centre level.
Manage the team to provide monthly and 10-year forecasts for both operations and project work.
Regularly review processes and controls to ensure appropriateness.
Oversee testing of finance software upgrades and new software implementation.
Ensure risks are managed and reported against on a regular basis.
Review tax plans and tax returns (VAT, P11D, PSA, Partnership) to ensure accurate completion and timely submission.
Ensure appropriate insurance cover is in place to cover projects, buildings, plant and vehicles (non-exhaustive list).
Ensure compliance and governance activities are completed as necessary, including facilitating audits.
Review payment runs and ensure payments are made in a timely and accurate manner.
Operate a robust supplier vetting procedure to minimise fraud risk.
Review payroll to ensure accurate payment is made in a timely manner.
Additional Responsibilities Uphold and maintain Estate Values, policies and procedures, ensuring that you understand, embrace and focus on the Estate's principles and priorities.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships across DPE, family office entities and third parties. Proactively promote and maintain high standards across the Estate – taking initiative to resolve and/or draw attention to areas that do not meet required standards or any issues that arise.

Person specification / Core Competencies: Professionally Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent Strong experience in a Head of Finance role or similar position, preferably including the Role Specific Responsibilities listed above.
