Head of Facilities & Venue, Royal Society of Edinburgh Location – Edinburgh Salary – up to £70,000 The Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE) is Scotland's National Academy, working to inspire, engage, provide expertise and promote Scotland across the globe.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, passionate and commercially astute facilities and venue professional with exceptional communication skills to champion the RSE as our new Head of Facilities & Venue.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of the buildings including planned & reactive maintenance, venue hire and events, compliance with regulatory requirements including health & safety as well as managing key third party contracts such as cleaning, catering and security this includes the day-to-day management of the provision of facilities management to the RSE "Grade A" listed buildings in central Edinburgh.
Further to this, and aligned with our 5-year strategy, you'll be pivotal in a review of our buildings with a view to developing a capital investment plan which will create modern, contemporary and sustainable accommodation, designed in sympathy with the historic nature and listed building status of the RSE buildings.
This role will require a balance between delivering the business as usual and the strategic planning and delivery of a significant capital investment plan.
We are looking for an experienced facilities & venue leader, who will bring the technical skills and a proven track record of having managed all aspects of buildings, ideally in a listed environment, including the promotion of the buildings as a venue for hire.
This is an ideal role for a senior-level professional who can effectively lead, manage and develop a team and venue.
With a responsibility for managing the day-to-day facilities, negotiating contracts, promoting the venue, inputting towards and delivering capital projects, you will be effective in manging both your own and the team's time and priorities.
